Sensei Conti was fortunate to have studied with the Great Grand Master Richard A. Bowe and was affiliated with Nihon Goshin Aikido for over 10 years. Sensei attained the rank of Nidan before going to Japan in 1979 to find Aikido's roots. While studying Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu Kodo Kai, affiliation with Nihon Goshin Aikido ended.

Sensei then studied Daito Ryu AikiJujutsu Kodokai under Master teacher Katsumi Yonezawa Sensei for over 8 years. He also studied in Japan as an uchideshi, and received a makimono (scroll of curriculum) and a kanban (identifies the dojo and is a license to teach). He was the only occidental to have translated, transcribed, studied, tested, and trained the wazas of the makimono at that time. After 8 years of training and hosting Yonezawa Sensei in his home every summer in the USA, Conti Sensei received the ranks of Sandan, Okusandan, Yondan, Godan, Jun Daidi, and had been appointed Eastern United States Director of Daito Ryu Aiki-Jujutsu Kodokai.

Conti Sensei sponsored countless seminars, clinics, and workshops for and with Yonezawa Sensei throughout the Eastern United States during the 8 year relationship. As the appointed Eastern United States Director for 7 years, Sensei attempted to organize and spread the knowledge and skills of Daito Ryu AikiJujutsu but unfortunately politics, and not merit, guided the growth of the association. Therefore, Sensei decided to resign from the position and the organization. We are no longer affiliated with either Nihon Goshin Aikido or Kodokai Daito Ryu AikiJujutsu.

Having studied kobudo, kobujutsu, Iaido, Iaijutsu, Kenjutsu, and Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate for the last 30 years and attaining teacher and master certifications, Sensei and the Budokan are now affiliated with Tenshin Ryu Kenjutsu [ Lovret Sensei, Master John Hamilton, Master Vince Ward], the Japanese Sword Society, and Okinawan Sho-ha Shorin Ryu Karate [Master John Hamilton, Master Vince Ward]. Our web site is presently under construction, so check it periodically for more information. Thank you for your inquiry.
