Bo Kobo

(Attack and Defense with Bo)

Both offense and  Defense start out with right foot forward in front stance.

(It is important to note that the grip on the bo throughout this kobo does not change.)

Offense

Defense

1. Step forward, low side strike. Do not change grip. (Kiai!) Shout!

4. Jump up and back switching feet, avoiding low slide thrust in Defense step 2. Down block.

6. Outside block

8. Inside block.

9. Upper level two hand thrust.

11. Overhead strike.

14. Jump up and back avoiding low reverse side strike. (Stay in same stance.)

15. Two hand thrust to groin.

17. Step forward low side strike.

2. Step back in reverse front stance, low reverse block, and low slide thrust towards opponents shin.

3. Step forward towards opponent and low side strike.

5. Upper level side strike.

7. Upper level two hand thrust.

12. Two hand rising block, basic grip.

13 Step back and crouch low in front stance. Spinning reverse side strike targeting opponents legs.

16. Step back, bring bo back to ready position using that motion to block opponents thrust to groin. 

18. Round block forcing opponents bo to the ground, upward strike to opponents chest. Overhead strike to their back Step forward over opponent and reverse slide thrust. (Kiai!) Shout!
