The first steps
First of all you will need the FTP settings sent to you via email when you signed up for your
account. Go find them and come back.
Start the program either from the Windows Start menu or by double-clicking on the desktop icon.
You should then see a screen something like this:-

In the Profile Name box type a name that means something to you. It really
doesn't matter what it is as long as you haven't used it with the same program before. I suggest
something like Spaceports Website or Spaceports CGI-BIN. Try not to make it too
difficult to spot amongst all the other names already listed there.
In the Host Name/Address box type the name of your server. It will be in the
form of planet.spaceports.com or cgi-bin.spaceports.com - 'planet' can be any one
of over 20 names, so I hope you dug that email out.
In the Host Type box you can either leave it on Automatic detect or
select UNIX (standard).
In the User ID box type in your username without the ~ character.
In the Password box type in your password - you really do need that email now.
If your computer is secure from other users, do yourself a big favour and check/tick the Save
Pwd box.
Click the Startup tab and you will see a box something like this:-

In the Initial Remote Site Folder box type /public_html
In the Initial Local Folder box type the path to your website files on your
hard drive (optional).
