mysql_num_rows -- Get number of rows in result
Description
int mysql_num_rows (resource result)
mysql_num_rows() returns the number of rows in a result set. This command is only
valid for SELECT statements. To retrieve the number of rows affected by a INSERT, UPDATE or DELETE
query, use mysql_affected_rows().
|
Example 1. mysql_num_rows() example
<?php
$link = mysql_connect("localhost", "username", "password");
mysql_select_db("database", $link);
$result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM table1", $link);
$num_rows = mysql_num_rows($result);
echo "$num_rows Rows\n";
?>
